We are having our very own Go Green Day for CF next week. We will be having school holidays by then, therefore no reason for you to skip CF! :)

We will be meeting in the same class we meet which is in 2nd floor, 5 Efisien and we are going to do Praise and Worship then we are going around housing areas to collect recycable stuff. Come and join us for this event!

3rd-last CF of the Year!

Hey people!

Just a quick recap of the CF meeting that was on the 22nd of October this year.

Pastor Andy came and gave a talk on Legacy!

Pastor Andy highlighted these points:

It's very important that we think about leaving something behind for the next generation to carry on doing, even at this young age.
We need to start becoming good role models for our younger generation to follow.
Once good values(more importantly, Christlike values) are instilled in the younger generation, it becomes natural for them to do! And the cycle repeats:)
Start thinking about what you want to leave behind in school. Just memories? Or a long-lasting impact on those still in school and those who have left.

The last CF meeting will be on the 12th of November!

CF Hand Down Ceremony Aftermath!

The SMK USJ 13's and SMK USJ 4's Christian Fellowship Joint Hand Down at The Hub last Saturday was a success! Praise God:D

We kicked off the morning with a little ice-breaker by our now Worship and Games Coordinator Benjamin Loh!(Yes, our school's Benjamin Wong)

We would like to thank ACTS Church for adopting us under their Project Mordecai! This program has really helps us grow more mentally and spiritually mature:) We thank God for your guidance and care for our CF.

Not forgetting our over-seer Shaun Kang! Thank you for putting so much time and effort mentoring the committee. Although you've been very busy with your own errands, you still set aside time to come for our weekly meetings. We appreciate you very much:)

This Friday: Prayer walk!

Hey chickens:)

This week, we're having a Prayer Walk for Mass Recess Revolution!

Here are a few guidelines for that day:

Remember-this is not a race; please take your time so that the Holy Spirit can show you whatever He wants to.
Follow the leader assigned to you. Stay within the spiritual and physical boundaries you are given
At the end of your walk, gather together and share your impressions, visions, etc. with your leader who will use the back of the route sheet to record them. (Leaders, please turn these in to the person in charge.)

We want to really intercede for change in SMK USJ 13 so please don't take this event lightly. Because Ephesians 3:20 says that:

"God can do anything, you know - far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams!"

In James, it is said:

"The prayer of a person living right with God is something powerful to be reckoned with"

James 5:16b

So be prepared physically and spiritually for Friday!

We're only a few more hours away from Hydro Wars!

With the clock ticking away, I have to make these final updates to give you.

One: We're really sorry, but we don't have spare water guns for all of you:( Even if we did have spares, they're run out pretty fast if all of you didn't bring any. So now, what we're suggesting is, borrow one from someone you know who has one!:D

Two: If you bring your water guns to school, please don't take them out and play with the during school. We don't want to have teachers confiscating them...and then compromise the whole operation. Just wrap them up so teachers won't see what they are and keep them in plastic bags or paper bags.

Three: Before the war starts, you obviously want to change first because you wouldn't want to go home with a wet uniform. So after school, immediately change in the school toilets before going to USJ 16 Gazebo. Oh, and wear something dark. Especially girls. You don't need me to explain. You know why.

Okay, that's basically it.

It's been a very productive two weeks for a lot of us, so we want to start this week with a BANG! I'm sure you have heard of Hydro Wars right? Well, wait no longer, because it's this Friday!:D

RE:Union was just simply AWESOME! If you missed this year's one, you won't want to miss the next year's one!

Pr Sandra : She preached up a storm on BGR on both days! She mention so many things that is related to us! Trust me, you won't want to get into a relationship now because you won't want to regret it later on!

Pr Andy : He preached so awesomely until I forgot his message and laughed during his message most of the time. But his message was just so awesome. He talked about "The Power of Perception", Perspective, Prayer and Praise, Puny"

Pr Dave : He was just so awesome. He preached something very relevant which is about FAMILY! Hebrew 2:11.. Read it and meditate over it! It helps a lot

Pr Alex : He did a good job! He was pretty funny tho. Really he is just so funny! So this is his message "It's alright not to be alright at times" It means that it is alright for you to be radical at all time! C'mon people. It's time to be radical for God!

Pr Sam : He is just an awesome man of God! When he preached, you can just feel the revival! He talked about "Reaffirm you call" "Reposition your ministry" "Refocus your vision" Go and read "Luke 24: 36-39! It will helps you a lot :)

Pr Kenneth : He is just so ANOINTED! His message really and truly blessed so many people. The altar was packed with people. He talked about being a WORLD CHANGER! "Your fruits determine your future" "Remember that God has already said that it is going to happen"

Hey people! The Revo Garden Project is finally being completed tomorrow!:D

We'll be putting in new soil and new grass and plants so it will look really nice.

If any of you guys especially from the CF haven't come to help out,

come today because it's your last chance to be involved in this big project!

The general timeline for the day are as follows:

8.00 am – Gathering of Volunteers

8.15 am – General Briefing

CF was awesomee today! We celebrated Sarah Lim's b'day! And we had just a chill time only. We played games which is called 007, Bang! And this is the people that need to receive the punishment! Project Mordecai Launch!

Hey guys,

Project Mordecai Launch was superbly awesome! This time's CF we had record breaking attendance and record breaking attendance for newcomers also! PTL.. And another good news is we also had more Form 4s' coming in to join us this time around.

We had Pr Andy Yeoh and Pr Kenneth from Acts Church came to our CF to officiallize our CF Project Mordecai and we are part of the family of ACTS now!

CF went well throughout the day. Praise and worship was led by Ian and Charles and they did a good job. Our chairperson of the day also did a splendid job chairing the whole event. *applause* Phei Wen and Charles. Then we also had games that is conducted by Charlotte and we all enjoyed the CF don't we?! Well i know i do :) Kudos Charlotte. We had the signage of the Project Mordecai certificate and there after we are a part of Project Mordecai. Then we did give the ACTS people a certificate back for a sign of thanking them adopting us! And then we gave Pr Kenneth and Pr Andy Yeoh a big suprise "Thank You" card! And all this was done by Amanda Ooi. So we ended our CF with a bang and we had food!

Overall CF was more than awesome infect no words can describe it! And once again me, Amanda Ooi on behalf of the CF Committee want to thank you for coming and also thank ACTS for adopting us!

Well, we did take a group picture after that! :)

We'll be having our big massive Recess Revo tmrw. We will be cleaning up classes this time! We will try to clean as much class as possible. So all you need to bring if you are coming is :

2) A pail *optional

Project Mordecai :)

What?

“Project Mordecai” is a CF (Christian Fellowship in Schools) Adoption Project by ACTS Church through ACTS Teens – its Teens Ministry. It is aimed not just to encourage the secondary school Christian Fellowships (CF), but also working hand-in-hand with them to impact their schools. We are committed to support, disciple, equip, and challenge the CFs and their members to be soul winners and to make a positive impact in their schools!

Why Mordecai?

Mordecai adopted an orphan he named Esther, as his own child. He loved her, raised her carefully, and she was a good and obedient daughter even into adulthood – (Esther 2:7 onwards)
And while Esther was a hero, so was Mordecai. It's team work!
Esther was used by God to save a whole generation! She did it at a time when all odds were against her. And Mordecai never left her side. He cared for her but he also challenged her at the same time. And he also did what was right in his own generation. That's why the king rewarded him. In the same manner, our desire is to provide spiritual covering as well as practical training for CFs who will partner with us to see their school transformed by the love and power of God. It is not about how many CFs we can adopt, but it’s about how the CFs can be an impact in and through their schools.

How?

Our commitment to every CF that is a part of Project Mordecai can be experienced in 4 major areas:-

Pastoral

Regular visits, impartation (through teaching, preaching, and mentoring), pastoral care including counseling and prayer, etc. That’s right…we got your back!

Training

Regular training sessions, inclusive of on-the-job trainings for skills in leadership, event management, communication, and everything else we think we know.

Events

Support in the form of organized events (i.e. “our events are the CF’s events”) as well as organizing of events (i.e. backing up events organized by the CF). Basically, it’s T.E.A.M work – Together Everyone Achieves More!

Finance

We will set aside a substantial amount for the running of the CF with an option for more should the need arise. Yeah, it’s like “pocket money” for the CF

Hey guys,

I promised to update the blog and now i'm going to fulfill my promise! :) And we had our first CF of the year with a bang! We wanted to start well. So we had our breaking attendance, PTL! We also had our visitors for the day, which is Joben and Schaefer! They came to oversee us and the reason is because our CF is going to be adopted by Project Mordecai! Hey Revolutionists!

I’d like to pass on to you what Pastor Kenneth shared at the 1st Klang Valley Recess Revo Gathering last Saturday (Aug 08, 2009) – especially for those of you who missed it. It was an awesome gathering! Don’t miss the next one, ok!? :)

Pastor Kenneth shared some very important principles of Revolution, and I think it’s important that we all catch it & make it a part of us! So, here you go….

Key Text:

Romans 13:8
“Owe no one anything except to love one another, for He who loves another has fulfilled the law.”

· Love in this context = Agapao = a social kind of love; and also moral love.
· We must live for Him. Life is not about just finishing studies, setting your career goals, etc – as people do die young! Would you then just say that a person who dies young did not finish his studies or see his career fly? No! living for Him is more than just completing studies, etc. We live for Him with or without these!
· We “owe it” to one another to make stands. Standing up to say something shows that you love your generation! Do your generation a favour!
· We owe it to the teens/students in our schools. We “owe” love! We must love them to Jesus!
· “We owe our generation love”. All of us owe God. All of us started with a debt. God has a heart of giving.
· Recess revolution is not just for us. It is for others.
· The movement is nothing unless you can get one person loving his/her neighbour.
· Caution by Pastor kenneth: Revolution is not just fireworks. – only for an occasion for a display. We don’t want competition. Eg “Who is doing a better revo?”
· It must be a lifestyle change at the end of the day.
· We don’t want a crash diet.
· "Pace yourselves" (and set priorities)... especially when we're winning big... We're here for the longhaul :-)
· It is not how big your event is but how “small” your impact is on one life.
· Think about your classrooms and offices. The enemy takes notice and puts things in our way. We need to continue to watch and pray.

Recess Revolutionists, I pray that you catch all that Pastor shared about the heart of Revo. All that is happening now with Recess Revo, and all that will be started (or even discontinued!) in the weeks to come being led by the Holy Spirit, let’s continue to remember the heart of it; let’s remember that we “owe our generation”; let’s remember to take in the cautions as well.

I pray that our schools will see revolutionary transformation in the days to come… starting with your obedience to do what the Holy Spirit would have you do, not without discipleship. Truly, the harvest in plentiful!!

The Case Of Faith Part1

Whoa whoa whoa, looks like there's a debate going on in our cbox. Well, I'll share with you what I know about the truth about God.

- only in a world where faith is difficult can faith exist -

God is a hidden God. You have to make an effort of faith to find him.God gives us just enough evidence so that those who want him can find him.

"He is not far from anyone of us." - Acts17:27

What do you want?
The bible says that if you seek God with all your heart, then you will surely find him. Surely find him. It's the person who wants to know God that God reveals Himself to.
And if a person doesn't want to know God - Well, God has created the world and the human mind in such a way that he doesn't have to.

"Almost everyone now believes that the universe, and time itself, had a begining at the Big Bang." - Stephen Hawking
Now, this poses a major problem for skeptics. As Anthony Kenny of Oxford Univesity says, "A proponent of the Big Bang theory, at lease if he is an atheist, must believe that the...universe came from nothing and by nothing."
Eminent scientist Sir Arthur Eddington wrote:

"The begining seems to present insuperable difficulties unless we agree to look at it as frankly supernatural."

Did this come into existence spontaneously and without any help from any creator?

Stephen Hawking calculated that the rate of the universe's expansion one second after the Big Bang had been smaller by even one part in a hundred thousand million million, the universe would have collapsed into a fireball.

British physicist P.C.W Davies has concluded the odds against the initial conditions being suitable for the formation of stars - a necessary for planets and thus life - is a one followed by at least a thousand billion billion zeroes.

Nobel Prize-winner Sir Francis Crick said,

"The origin of life appears to be almost a miracle, so many are the conditions which would have had to be satisfied to get it going"

Even so, scientists have tried to come up with creative theories to try to explain how
biopolymers(such as proteins) became assembled with only the right building blocks
(amino acids) and only the correct isomers (left-handed amino acids) joined with
only the correct sequence.

With the discovery of background radiation in 1965, the Big Bang theory came to dominate in cosmology. The bad news for evolution was that this meant the earth was probably less than five billion years old.

"Actually, it's not as long as you think. And not only was the time too short,
but the mathematical odds of assembling a living organism are so astronomical
that nobody still believes that random chance accounts for the origin of life.
Even if you optimized the conditions, it wouldn't work. If you took all the
carbon in the universe and put it on the face of the earth,allowed it to chemically
react at the most rapid rate possible, and left it for a billion years, the odds of
creating just one functional protein molecule would be one chance in
10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,
000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000.

Fredrick Hoyle put it colourfully when he said that this scenario is about as likely as
a tornado whirling through a junkyard and accidentally assembling a fully functional Boeing 747.

"In other words, the odds for all practical purposes are zero. That's why even though
some people who aren't educated in this field still believe life emerged by chance, scientists simply don't believe it anymore."

Fired Up For God~!

During the December break, I was asked if I was interested in attending the Youth Leadership Development Program (YLDP): a six day camp I knew nothing about. First off, I didn’t even know what YLDP stood for! I was reluctant, but after much persuasion from my parents,
I finally gave in.

This year, the camp is at the SUFES campsite, Tapah (for Pre-Level, Level 1, 2 & 3),
from 9 to 14 December 2008. Daniel(my church member) and I got to sleep in tents (I never looked forward to sleeping during the camp because of that). The place was horrible: the showers had no heaters, there were mosquitoes the size of your thumb, and there was dew on the top of the tent every morning.

Despite all that, I have been really touched by God during those six days. This was in fact, the only camp so far where I looked forward to the worship sessions. I found myself worshiping God on a whole new level and did things I never did before like raising my hands. And during worship I looked around me, I was just amazed at the sight of my generation just worshiping God and you could feel God’s grace upon us. It hit me so hard that I just knew that God was real.

Through the daily devotion, I learned that as a Christian, our spiritual journey is also long distance running, where we will also face tiredness, ”out of breath”, or even sometimes feeling like “Just let me die already!!” There is this phenomenon called “second wind”, which is a phenomenon whereby an athlete who is too out of breath suddenly finds strength to press on in his run. We have to find the source of our second wind to help us make it through our spiritual journey. This was what really got me thinking.

During the sessions, I learned that:

- Being a leader is not for fun

- A leader is someone called by God to influence a specific group of God’s people towards his purposes for them

- God develops leaders over a life time

- God is more interested in who we are than what we do

One of my new friends at the camp had family problems; her mom and dad always fought. She comes from a Buddhist family, and she’s the only Christian in her family. During worship, she always cried. On the last night, she got a call that her parents were going to split up. Together with her friend, she stayed in her tent and prayed while we were in the hall. A few minutes later, she got a call that her parents decided not to. How great is our God!

God really spoke to me throughout the entire camp and opened my eyes to a whole lot of new things and I now look at things at a different angle. My life has been transformed, and I don’t want to hold the good news inside!

Lord Jesus,
Thank You that the joy from You is my strength.
I put my trust and my hope in You.
Continue to give strength to the tired and weary.
I pray for those who are sick and hurting,
that they may be healed in Your gentle and caring touch.
Teach me to be the encouraging and listening friend to those who
have no one else to hear them. Open my eyes to my
own weaknesses and my need for Your grace;
and let this knowledge be the seed of faith which binds me to
You and gives me strength to go forward in Your service.
You didn’t send me to start the race,
but You sent me to finish it. Strengthen me, be my wind.
In all this, help me to realize that in the end,
it’s You I want.
Amen.

WHY is my life like this? WHY is it so unfair?
WHY are other people's life better than mine?

Familliar?

Well its a thing everyone face.
Its because we often see what is bad rather
than what is good.

Well I was always complaining bout my life..
About me being the oldest son and my mum often said
"Kenny do this do this and that" and when I questioned
them,they'll say cause I'm the oldest guy here.

Also,complained about me not being allowed to go to
church on Sundays, about me not being born in a
christian family,about me not having Brat Pitt's looks
(Don't deny it people,i know you did felt this way
before!),about me not being that smart,about not
being rich,about the probs i have, about my attitude
prob,about me being fat =.=.....

So it went on.Until yesterday..

When i heard about this person "A" who is a christian
whoisnt born in a christian family,getting beaten by
dad,cant go to church!So miserable till "A" cant take
it anymore and stop going to school for awhile.

Then i thought of those who were diagnosed with
incurable sickness.CANCER? AIDS?

But there was a particular girl though she passed away
quite a while ago..she impacted my life!They made
a movie based on her diary.

The story's name: One Litre of Tears

This drama is about a girl who was diagnosed with a
disease called Spinocerebellar Atrophy, in which the
nerve cells of areas necessary for the human body to
move and balance–including the cerebellum,brain stem,
and spinal cord–transform and eventually disappear.

When she was 15 years old, and was able to continue
her life until her death at the age of 25 years old.

The plot is based on the true story of a Japanese girl
named Kito Aya,who had the same disease. She kept
writing in her diary to remember her experiences until
she could no longer hold a pen.

Aya simply wished to live until the end of her life, and
the purpose of writing in the diary was to remind herself,
not to give up!

She shed tears many times, at the same time
encompassed by the rich love and support from her
family, friends,and boyfriend.

Her diary “1 Litre of Tears” was published after her
death,because of its inspiring and courageous message of,

“Just being alive is such a lovely and wonderful thing.”

Synopsis:
Ikeuchi Aya (Sawajiri Erika), a 15 year old girl, is the
eldest daughter in a normal Japanese family. She lives
with her reliable mother, Shioka, who works as a
nutritionist,her father,Mizuo, the wacky owner of a
tofu shop, her quiet younger brother,Hiroki, and two
younger sisters, the sarcastic Ako and innocent Rika.

On the day of her high school entrance exam, she left
the house full of energy, but she missed her stop to get
off the bus and walk to her high school because she fell
asleep.She quickly got off and ran from the bus in the
rain when she discovered she was late.

She slipped, fell down and injured her knee.At that
time,she met Haruto Aso, who was trying to skip the
exam.He gave her a ride to school, the administrators
allowed them to take the exam (despite the fact that
Haruto was uninterested in taking it),which they
both later passed.

The new semester began, Aya and Haruto were in
the same class, and both were elected as the
representative of their class. Aya also joined the
basketball team, and was reunited with the boy who
she was fond of from the male basketball team.

Just as she was beginning to enjoy her high school days,
Aya starts to experience some physical difficulties. She
always dropped food from her chopsticks, could not
estimate the distance of the objects in front of her,
could not pour water into a cup without spilling it,
and occasionally wobbled while walking!

Her mother, Shioka, who was the only one to notice
the physical changes in Aya, started to worry about
what was going on.

One day, Aya’s life started to change after she tripped
and fell.She couldn’t protect herself with her hands
while falling and she hurt her face. After this, her
illness slowly revealed and her tragedy begins…

My first reaction was to google what is this SCA all about.

Spinocerebellar ataxia (SCA) is one of a group of
genetic disorders characterized by slowly progressive
incoordination of gait and often associated with poor
coordination of hands,speech,and eye movements.

Frequently, atrophy of the cerebellum occurs.As
with other forms of ataxia, SCA results in unsteady and
clumsy motion of the bodydue to a failure of the fine
coordination of muscle movements, along with other
symptoms.There is no known cure for spinocerebellar
ataxia,which is a progressive disease (it gets worse with
time),although not all types cause equally severe disability.

Treatments are generally limited to softening symptoms,
not the disease itself. The condition can be irreversible.
A person with this disease will usually end up needing to
use a wheelchair, and eventually they may need assistance
to perform daily tasks.

Kito Ayo. At the peak of a teens life at a age of only
15 yrs old,she was told of her incurable disease.
Incurable?

Meaning death call is awaiting and welcoming?
Soon, she was couldn’t run about without falling clumsily,
couldn’t walk properly as her legs weaken day by day,
and eventually lost her mobility to a wheelchair.

She lost her school, and friends who eventually got tired
of looking after her and her future. Each day, she woke
up in fear, and progressively losing the things she
owned and herself.

'Why me?' and 'Whats my purpose in life?'

Were the two questions that hunted her everyday?
Nevertheless,with the love and support from her family,
she fights to live on and she found her purpose to write
about her life and did not stop even she was bed-ridden.

Finally, she did when she lost her arms mobility
and eventually her speech movements.

ARE YOU A BATMAN, OR A SUPERMAN CHRISTIAN?
Growing up during the golden age of comic books, I was a big fan of classic heroes such as Superman and Batman. Superman was practically invincible, with super strength, invulnerability, and heat vision (thus classified as a super hero), typically winning any conflict decisively. Batman dealt with challenges using ingenuity, high-tech gadgets, superb physical conditioning, and no super powers (thus classified as an action hero).
I found that over time I accumulated more Batman comic books than Superman books. Batman seemed more intriguing than other super heroes. Batman would endure a lot of pain and loss while triumphing over the bad guys he encountered. During the years, I witnessed Batman’s back getting broken and the first Robin (his sidekick) dying. It was no easy road being the Batman. Conversely, Superman hardly ever got into life-threatening situations and was typically able to extract himself from any fierce cosmic battle using his superior powers and never needing an adhesive bandage afterwards.
Which character you most identify with often shows what kind of Christian experience you have had. I have noticed that some Christians suffer financial hardship, lose homes, businesses, jobs, cars, and close family members but still keep marching on in faith waiting for the tide to turn, like Batman did.
Other Christians are more fortunate. Not too many years ago, I was working in part-time youth ministry and losing all of my material possessions such as my vehicles and house due to the loss of my full-time job. On top of that situation, the birth of my twin sons and the death of a family member were equally imminent. A Christian neighbor walked up to me and told me that he had lost his job unexpectedly but had a better paying position offered to him within hours. “Isn’t God great!” he exclaimed.
Yes God is, but at that moment I felt as though I was God’s stepchild and my neighbor was the real thing. These Superman Christians may lose their jobs but get an even better one within a week, lose a car but someone gives them a new one. They rarely seem bummed out by anything because they are so blessed.
Is Superman more spiritual than Batman or vice versa? No! Does God bring a diversity of experiences to people because of what kinds of Christians God wants to make us? Absolutely! Christ even did so with his apostles.
Most of Jesus’ apostles died as martyrs for the faith after lives of sacrifice and suffering to spread the gospel. This hardship happened to them not because they were God’s stepchildren and got second-class (or Batman) treatment but because their suffering was the best way they could glorify Jesus and perfect their characters. Peter and Paul were greatly blessed by God. Paul even sang about it in prison. They apparently did not drive around in SUV-style chariots or make high-dollar sandal endorsements, but those status symbols were not a measure of their faith.
The Apostle John might be considered more of a Superman-type Christian. He did not have to die a martyr’s death even though the Romans tried to give him one. According to Church tradition, the Romans boiled him in oil but the torture had no effect on this Superman; so they had to give up and exile him to the Isle of Patmos. Was John less spiritual than Peter or Paul? No. Just given different experiences by God for his perfection in the faith.
We may suffer doing youth ministry, enduring things such as low pay, marginal respect, lack of resources, parental apathy, and youth indifference. But when we do, we can take comfort in knowing that our suffering may happen not because we are not capable of success but because some of us are simply Batman Christians. And that’s OK
